Nike CruzrOne 'Pure Platinum'

After debuting a new React sneaker at South by Southwest back in March, Tinker Hatfield is following up with the official unveiling of his new design, the Nike CruzrOne.

Conceptualized as a running shoe intended for aging athletes—or simply those who prefer slower-paced runs (or "cruises"), the CruzrOne was inspired by a conversation between Hatfield and Nike co-founder Phil Knight. After Hatfield told Knight he'd heard of his eight-miles-a-day walking habit, Knight was quick to correct the designer: "I don’t walk. I run! Just really, really slowly."

The playful conversation sparked a serious design, one which Hatfield tailored for the movement of the foot at a slower pace. The CruzrOne's React-cushioned midsole features a rounded heel intended to make the heel-to-toe movement smooth, while a two-way stretch upper is lined with shearling for plush comfort.
